Lavender Essential Oil for Stress Relief

3 Ways to Use Lavender to Decrease Stress

Lavender is an incredibly versatile, powerful, and yet still gentle essential oil for naturally balancing our body’s systems.

We often recognize it for its ability to both relax and balance emotions, but did you know that it also affects our Nervous System, Cardiovascular System, and our Skin at a deeper level?

It promotes a general sense of wellbeing, soothes skin irritations and minor burns, and reduces anxiety to promote restful sleep (which is essential for healing and health).

The use of Lavender Essential Oil is beneficial in decreasing the chemical, mental and physical stress for both ourselves and our families.

Chemical Stress can be caused by things such as eating an unbalanced diet or exposure to toxins in our environment.

Mental Stress is often what we most commonly associate with “typical stress”. Meeting a deadline, taking care of our family, passing a test, life changes, anxiety and worry, etc.

Physical Stress can be caused by physical trauma, a broken bone, too heavy of a backpack, changes in our body structure (pregnancy), sickness and disease.

3 Ways To Use Lavender Essential Oil to Decrease Stress In Your Family:

  1. Diffuse 5 drops of Lavender Essential Oil in an aromatherapy diffuser. Diffuse in bedroom at night to promote healthy rest, healing (which occurs when we sleep), peaceful thoughts and rejuvenation.
  2. Add 10 drops of Lavender to 1/2 Cup of Epsom salt and dissolve it in warm bathwater. This is a great way to reduce the chemical stress within your body as well as promote relaxation and calming energy.
  3. Add 2-3 drops of Lavender to a couple drops of fractionated coconut oil and rub it into bottoms of feet before bedtime. This is a great way to promote healthy sleep for our kiddos and help keep any monsters away.

Bonus: Combine a drop or two of lavender essential oil with a couple drops of fractionated coconut oil and apply to any minor skin irritation or acne for natural relief and healing.
